Roth conversion trade-off
« on: July 19, 2018, 10:59:19 AM »
Trying to find rule of thumb for how high I should raise my tax rate as a result of making Roth conversions post retirement pre social security. During my career I had 18% effective tax rate.
Pension, 44k, deductions for house 23k, SS in nine yrs 36k, RMDs in nine years 60k, assuming market does not go down, of course. Thank you!

The new tax law rules out any rules of thumb. I would need more info to work up the tax consequences.
